    It was a warm spring evening in Jamaa as my buddies and I wandered about Sarepia Forest. The birds were singing gently as the sun set and the fireflies began to flit about the forest. Quietly we slid down the stone slide and gathered around the fire pit to warm our paws and stare at the stars. The moon shone bright against the darkness of the sky when suddenly . . . some mist appeared. Everyone let forth a small gasp as the mist spiraled down into the fire pit. A singsong voice echoed as the flames began to grow.

    "Welcome my children," the voice sang, "back to your homeland."
    "It's about time," sounded an almost familiar voice.
    It seemed to come from within the dancing flames, taller then the jammers surrounding the fire.
    "Hush rabbit," said deep voiced animal, with a bit of a growl.
    The echoing and kind voice was heard again. "These are your first betas, train them well."
    The flames sprung even higher, dancing in the form of a great heron. Shadows began to swirl and suddenly the flames burst into falling sparks. Within the embers of the fire stood a great group of animals. Looking ready for anything.

    A motherly panda stepped out of the dying embers with a smile, a tiger strode out with long steady strides, a wolf with a jeweled eye slid forth, and so many more followed. Finally the last animal, a beautiful and graceful fox, left the magical embers.

    "We're the alphas," she grinned with a wink, "and we've come home."
